We're getting very close to our 'official' launch. Check out our new pages on...

While you're there, be sure to follow/like us so you get all the latest updates.

This week we added a new publisher - Daehn Publications.

You'll now hear even more great music - including all of the Daehn Publications new music for 2013-2014.

And because each of our publishers provide us with ALL of their available catalog to play there are even more titles than just their newest releases. There are many great pieces by Daehn Publications that have been released in the past few years. We've added about 30-40 additional pieces (50-60 in all) but there are almost 200 more pieces that we'll be adding in the next week.

Keep listening each day/week to hear all the added songs.

And watch for new publishers that we'll be adding regularly in the next few weeks.

Director, BandMusicRadio.com

Unlike some of those 'random music playback services', the music on Band Music Radio.com is specifically planned to provide you with a varied, but predictable pattern of music each hour and different things at different hours of the day. It starts with News at the top of the hour, followed by a new release, a 'general title' and then a 'classical' transcription/arrangment, then a march. Different parts of the hour feature a 'world' song and as we build the song list we will have a number of other categories.

Unfortunately, part of the pre-launch process includes adjusting what we play when and today we changed an configuration that caused the same song to be played 2-3 times in a row. That wasn't just a disgruntled DJ, it was really the result of some 'illogical logic' (rules that contradicted themselves) about what songs to play when.

We're still working out those issues, but we've gotten the '3-in-a-row' issue resolved (I hope).

We still have a couple other changes to our schedule planned yet this week. Hopefully they won't result in similar repeats.

Thanks for your patience in this 'pre-launch' time period.

I'm excited for the other cool things planned - as soon as we get these basic bugs worked out.

Director - BandMusicRadio.com

BTW ... one sure way to help prevent all the repeats is to get more publishers playing on BandMusicRadio.com. If you have any personal connections with other publishers that you'd like to hear on the station, send them a note and encourage them to connect with us and get their songs on the air. That will help us, but it will also help you and other directors hear more great band music!

An invitation email went out today to all Grand Mesa Music fans.

Welcome to all of you and thanks for checking out BandMusicRadio.com.

In case you were wondering, this is NOT just a GMM station. GMM just happens to be our first publisher playing on BMR. We're talking with other publishers to get their music on the station. Watch for more soon.

And be sure to vote for your favorite band publisher that you'd like us to contact and get their music on the station. Directors and Band Members can vote (after logging in).

Let us know your thoughts as we continue to get closer to our launch date later in September.

Today was a GREAT day getting lots of lose ends tied up.

Here's a list of the changes from today:

  • Added a cool 'Connect Now' graphic at the top of every page to make it easy to register for new listenters
  • Got the '48 hour' listings functional (you can see them in the general resources once you're logged in)
This lets you look back up to 48 hours to see what played during any specific hour.
All the entries have links so you can go to the publisher's page or the advertiser's web site.
  • The What's Playing area is finaly updated to match the style of the web site (colors) and some functionality problems fixed.
  • Got the Directory areas working that will list Publishers, Distributors, and Advertisers (now we just have to get more of those people to sign-up on the site.
  • Increased the number of concurrent listeners on the station to 100 - that should be good enough until we have the 'official launch'
  • Worked with Grand Mesa Music to get their notice to their fans out by email. That should go out first thing Monday Morning
  • Added a Report Problem form so that if people notice problems on the station (or web site) they can easily report it.
  • Added a number of tips and instructions that will go out to new people signing up - so that they can get more out of BandMusicRadio.com
  • Created some Twitter Lists to help us keep updated with what's going on in the band world. If you're on Twitter, be sure to check out our page and our various lists (most of them are public). If you are missing from one of the lists where you should be included, just drop me a note and I'll add you.

This week will be a VERY busy one with more connections with publishers and prospective advertisers. In addition, we'll be welcoming the Grand Mesa Music fans to the site, our first big group of listeners.
